The World According To Andy Votel
The man behind the music in Manchester describes the Gurkha Grill. Gurkha Grill The best restaurant in the world. It's on Burton Road in Didsbury Manchester. Their pepper chicken is beautiful. Whenever I go traveling for any length of time, the first thing I do when I get back is go straight there. It's the best Nepalese restaurant going. My personal cooking abilities aren't so impressive - they rely solely on heavy use of parmesan. |

Gurkha Grill The seating capacity has been doubled here, and it now looks much like one of the other trendy West Didsbury spots. Still the most important element however is the food. This is impressive with with lots of unusual Nepalese specialties plus familiar Indian fare too. This restaurant is highly recommended with its new look and deliciously spiced food. |
City Life Restaurants Guide Manchester
Sent a shiver of competition down complacent Burton Road when it opened, and soon became a name on everyone's lips because their excellent food was in everybody's stomach. Recently refurbished, the food is to die for, with Sekuwa, Sweet Nans and other authentic dishes sharing with more regular fare, all cooked with impeccable class. |

"Exceptional food at reasonable prices" - and with "lots of dishes you won't find elsewhere" - together with "very friendly service" won numerous bouquet for this "excellent Nepalese curry house", even if some think its "converted end terrace" premises which has recently been refurbished with a modern minimalist look and some great Nepalese touches.

Gurkha Grill Nepalese Restaurant
This cosy family-run Nepalese restaurant, related to the Kantipoor has earned the praises of City Life's Food & Drink columns before. Some confusion abounds however, even among experienced palates, as to the distinction between Indian and Nepalese cuisine, which is why the staff at the Gurkha Grill make special efforts to cater for individuals and as it were, to cut a path through the forest of dishes. A restaurant with a personal touch.
